Pompeii ticket facts at a glance

VivaTicket is the Archaeological Park’s exclusive online ticket seller. The Park also operates ticket offices at its entrances. It does not publish a fixed ticket-release cadence or promise that a reseller or tour has a separate guaranteed allocation.

Buy from the official channel

Select the ticket and date you need, enter each visitor’s name carefully, and keep the PDF or mobile ticket ready at the entrance.

Bring identification

Individual tickets are named and tied to a date and time. Staff may ask for matching identification, especially for reduced or free admission.

The official reduced ticket is €2 for eligible EU citizens aged 18 to under 25 and the other categories listed by the Park. The MyPompeii reduced annual price is €10 for qualifying visitors under 25. Free admission categories require the documents specified by the Park.

Opening hours

The main archaeological site opens at 09:00 in both seasons. December 25 and January 1 are the standard annual closure dates published by the Park.

Before checkout

  • Use the exact visitor names requested during checkout and bring matching identification.
  • A mobile or printed PDF ticket is accepted; keep it available for scanning.
  • Tickets normally cannot be changed or refunded, except when the Park closes extraordinarily under its published rules.
  • Organized groups may contain no more than 35 visitors under the current regulations.
  • Bags larger than 30 × 30 × 15 cm are not permitted inside the archaeological area.
